Capitalist Perspective (Social Authoritarianism)[edit | edit source]
Several authoritarian governments supported Social Capitalism. They favored the implementation of a social market economy or
humanistic capitalism within the context of a strong
central government. In many cases they could be considered
authoritarian capitalists who are more
interventionist and
welfarist than their more traditional free-market/laissez-faire counterparts. Examples of this include
Islam Karimov of
Uzbekistan and
Hu Jintao of
China
